Step 1: Download the app Visit your device's app store (iOS App Store or Google Play Store) and search for "Lava Wallet". Download and install the app on your smartphone.

You will then be shown a list of your funds in bitcoin and USDC (empty for a new wallet):

Step 3: Set up recovery methods After creating your wallet, it is crucial to set up recovery methods to reduce the risk of losing your funds. Go to “Settings” → “Security

Tap “Setup Now

Name your vault to ensure you know which vault this is:

Create a Lava Recovery Pin and re-confirm it in the next screen:

(Optional) Setup Pin Recovery Method so your can recover your vault back even if you forgot your pin:

Step 4: Fund your wallet Now that your wallet is set up, you can add funds to it. Click “Buy” → “Buy Crypto”:

You can purchase both bitcoin and USDC using great many available fiat currencies (like USD or EUR).

Step 5: Explore the wallet features Take some time to familiarize yourself with the various features of our wallet app. You can withdraw your funds to a bank, send and receive crypto, borrow against bitcoin, see the transaction history, report issues, and much more:

Step 6: Keep yourself updated Regularly check both for app updates and those of your operating system; this will minimize security risks associated with software bugs. If you set up physical recovery, make sure periodically that your seedphrase and/or QR code are still with you.

Additional Step: Lava supports multiple vaults, recover any of them back in just 2 steps:

Ensure that you have cloud recovery already setup (You’ll lose access if this isn’t done already), users are guided through the process of selecting one of their backed-up vaults for recovery. Lava supports the management of multiple vaults, allowing users flexibility in their data recovery options. If you have more than one vault saved, you will be prompted to choose which vault you wish to recover at this stage.

Things to remember

Here are some things to remember to avoid accidental loss of your money:

• Don’t leave your phone open. Otherwise, someone could steal the BTC/USDC just by opening the wallet app.

• Make sure the network is “Mainnet” (”Settings” → “Network”). "Testnet" means play money. If you send real money to a “Testnet” address, you'll lose the money.
